Non-Executive Director Succession

The Company is pleased to announce the appointment of Julie Hopes as an independent Non-Executive Director with immediate effect, serving on the Remuneration Committee, Audit Committee and Nomination Committee from appointment.  It is intended that Julie will be appointed Chair of the Remuneration Committee subject to, and with effect from, the date of regulatory approval.

Victoria Stewart, the current Chair of the Remuneration Committee, who is entering her ninth year on the Board, will step down as a Non-Executive Director, effective from 31 December 2024 or, if later, the date of regulatory approval for the new Chair of the Remuneration Committee.

Julie Hopes is a Non-Executive Director of Saga plc where she chairs the Remuneration and Risk Committees and is Deputy Chair, and Chair of the Remuneration Committee, of West Bromwich Building Society. She is currently a Non-Executive Director of MS Amlin Underwriting Limited, where she also chairs the Risk and Solvency Committee, however, will be stepping down from this role on 31 October 2024. Julie has previously served as Chair of Police Mutual and a Non-Executive Director and Chair of the Risk Committee of Co-Operative Insurance. Julie built her executive career in insurance having served in a number of senior roles at RSA plc, before becoming Managing Director of Insurance at Tesco Bank.

The Company also announces that effective immediately Victoria Mitchell, a current Non-Executive Director of STB, will become a member of the Company's Risk Committee.

Her previous experience within financial services, strong customer focus and growth mind-set will be valuable attributes to the Board as we pursue our growth strategy. There are no additional matters that would require disclosure pursuant to UKLR 6.4.8 of the Listing Rules of the UK Financial Conduct Authority.
