Award of New Lithium Brines Licences

Highlights

-     Two licences awarded in the Makgadikgadi Salt Pans of Botswana

-     Arkle to begin prospecting for lithium brines in early 2024

Arkle Resources (AIM:ARK) is pleased to announce that it has been awarded two exploration licences in the Makgadikgadi Salt Pans in North Eastern Botswana. The licences, PL 075/2023 and PL 0148/2023, cover 312 and 525 sq kilometres respectively in size.

The licences are awarded to prospect for lithium in the Salt Pans. There is very little known about the potential for lithium brines in the vast Makgadikgadi Salt Pans. Early-stage prospecting work will begin in early 2024.

John Teeling, Chairman, commented: "We are really pleased to have been awarded these two large licences in the Makgadikgadi Salt Pans. We now have three lithium exploration projects, one in Ireland, one in Zimbabwe, both hard rock, and now in Botswana which is a lithium brines project. Initial work will focus on analysis of the very limited exploration data, followed by prospecting to identify targets for drilling."

This announcement has been reviewed and approved by Ben Mosigi in his capacity as the Qualified Person for the purposes of the AIM Note for Mining, Oil and Gas Companies issued by the London Stock Exchange.
