UK permanent job recruitment crashed in November due to the October Budget (re Employers' NI)

The monthly survey by KPMG/REC posted a sharp fall in permanent placements in November (see below). Indeed, the drop was the steepest recorded since Aug'23.

Many respondents said the October Budget had led to uncertainty and the reassessment of staffing needs by businesses. Similar factors led to a 5th successive decline in temporary staff billings too.

Not great news either for UK-listed staffing stocks, such as HASPAGESTEMRWA, etc
