Tekcapital's Guident selected as vendor for Jacksonville transit modernisation project

Guident, the Tekcapital
investee company, has been selected as a vendor for Jacksonville Transportation Authority's ("JTA") "Ultimate Urban Circulator" project in the Jacksonville, Florida urban core. JTA's Procurement Review Committee picked Guident to provide remote monitoring and control services for phase 1 of the project.Jacksonville is the largest city by area in the contiguous United States. The Ultimate Urban Circulator is aimed at modernising and expanding the city's "Skyway" automated people mover, and introducing autonomous vehicles to the system.
This news comes on the back of yesterday's announcement that Guident, along with partner Airspan, has been developing an advanced autonomous vehicle (AV) connectivity solution in Boca Raton, farther south in Florida. Both projects utilise Guident's advanced remote monitoring and control services (RMCC) solution.
The market welcomed the news with
trading up 6% in early trading.

Guident is quickly establishing itself as a leader in advanced autonomous vehicle control systems.
Guident's asset value on
's balance sheet has consistently increased since initial investment in 1H 2018, reaching £22m in just 4 years:
Making Guident the largest holding, representing 47.5% of

In addition to autonomous vehicles, Guident also specialises in ground-based drones. The Company believes increased demand for "touch-free" delivery since Covid-19 will result in accelerated development of autonomous delivery drones. Triton Market Research has estimated the last-mile autonomous delivery market will reach £41.7 billion by 2028 with a CAGR of 19%.
Thus, there is much potential for further upside in this segment where
