Rome Resources (RMRFollow | RMRhas announced indications of mineralisation in the latest two holes it’s drilled at the Kalayi project in the Democratic Republic of Congo.

The company said Niton XRF portable analyser results taken from core samples have indicated tin mineralisation in drill holes KBDD005 and KBDD006.

Kalayi is part of the Company's Bisie North Projects, which, also includes the Mont Agoma and Mont Agoma Northwest prospects.

In hole KBDD005 handheld XRF analyses of samples collected from a core slot cut defined a high grade zone over 1.5 metres, with a maximum grade 3.1% tin.

In hole KBDD006 XRF analyses of samples from a core slot cut defined two zones of tin, 10 metres with a maximum grade of 5.3% tin, and eight metres with a maximum grade of 0.5% tin.

In hole KBDD007 a narrow zone of near surface tin mineralisation was intersected, allowing for typical pinching and swelling along the mineralised structure.

Meanwhile, hole KBDD009 is currently at 62.5 metres depth, and is targeting the significant mineralisation intersected at depth in KBDD006.

Hole MADD016 is at 46 metres deep, intersecting a gossanous zone with quartz veining and anomalous tin in the bottom three metres.

Hole KBDD010 has been collared and will test the high-grade tin in soil anomaly to the south of the current drilling.

A fourth diamond drill rig is in process of being mobilised and expected on site within two weeks. It is anticipated that the fourth diamond drill rig will commence drilling at Mont Agoma, which has to date seen minimal drilling during the current campaign.

"We are extremely encouraged by the results received from the XRF analyser as, although not certified, they represent further confirmation that our licence area contains significant, high-grade tin mineralisation,” said Paul Barrett, chief executive Rome Resources.

“We continue to progress the drilling programme, with the fourth diamond drill rig currently being mobilised, which will accelerate operations across our identified prospects."

These continuing positive indications from XRF are very encouraging, although no hard conclusions should be drawn until the assay results come back. But remember, this is a highly experienced team that has discovered tin in this region before. Watch this space.
