Rome Resources PLC (RMRFollow | RMRnow has two diamond core drill rigs operational at its Kalayi prospect and one drill rig operational at its Mont Agoma prospect in the North Kivu province in the Democratic Republic of Congo.

Collectively, these projects are known as Bisie North.

The third drillhole in the current campaign, hole KBDD007, is in progress at 103m at the Kalayi prospect.

The second drill rig at Kalayi was collared on the same drill line as hole KBDD006, which has already returned an impressive tin zone, as announced on 27 August 2024. The new hole will target the zone roughly 50 metres below the initial mineralised intersection.

Meanwhile, the third drill rig was collared to the southeast of previous drilling at Mont Agoma and will target anomalous tin mineralisation intersected previously in the top 50 metres of hole MADD009, as well as the copper-tin-silver zone at deeper levels.

The plan is to have a resource estimate in place by the start of 2025.

"We are really pleased with the ongoing progress of our drilling campaign at Bisie North, now poised to accelerate further,” said Paul Barrett, chief executive of Rome Resources.

The positive results the company continues to receive support the initial interpretation of earlier work undertaken at the project. This indicated that Bisie North has the potential to be an exciting, high-grade tin deposit. The team at Rome Resources has plenty of experience exploring for tin in this part of the world, and a track record of success. So, with demand for tin increasing, and disruption continuing at some of the world's largest suppliers, there are plenty of grounds for optimism.
