Rome Resources engages MSA to complete resources estimates for Bisie North by end June
Rome Resources (
) has engaged The MSA Group to complete maiden mineral resource estimates for its Bisie North project in North Kivu Province, in the eastern Democratic Republic of Congo. The scope of work covers both the Kalayi and Mont Agoma prospects and includes the generation of mineral resource models and reporting in accordance with CIM guidelines.
The results will be documented in an NI 43-101 technical report, suitable for LSE-AIM disclosure and will include 3D block models, grades and tonnage estimates.
In addition, an assessment will be made of the potential economic viability of the projects.
A previous NI 43-101 technical report was completed for Rome by MSA in 2024. Following extensive drilling since then, sufficient data has now been generated to support the creation of three dimensional mineralisation models for both prospects.
Completion of the maiden resources estimate is targeted for around the end of June 2025.
Rome is currently undertaking an aggressive deep drilling programme at Mont Agoma, with three rigs in operation targeting deeper tin mineralisation beneath the shallower copper-zinc zones.
Given strong momentum in the field, an update to the initial maiden resource is expected following receipt of new assay results from the current campaign. In addition, the company will put out an update on pre-assay drill results when available, the first being on completion of the current three drill holes in the coming days.
"With three rigs currently operating at Mont Agoma, we are making rapid progress in testing what we believe is a large-scale, high-value copper-tin-zinc-silver system,” said Paul Barrett, chief executive of Rome Resources.
“The data collected so far is robust enough to support our maiden resource estimates for both Kalayi and Mont Agoma, and we are pleased to appoint MSA to carry out this important milestone for the company. The geology is shaping up as we had hoped - with copper and zinc dominant near surface and tin strengthening at depth - confirming the zonation model we are targeting. This resource will be our first formal step in defining scale and value at Bisie North, and we plan to follow it with further updates once assay results from our current deeper drilling campaign are available."

It will be interesting to see these maiden resource numbers after so many positive-looking drill hits at Bisie North. The potential for something big is clearly there, but until you put a model around your high grade drill hits, it’s hard to really know. Now, Rome Resources is moving closer to something like certainty. Will the widths and grades support a sizeable resource? Or will the results from the ongoing drilling need to be incorporated in a further update? We are about to find out.
