Nightcap opens first Blame Gloria brand in Bristol
(NGHT ) has announced the first new opening for its Blame Gloria brand outside of London as it says its portfolio of bars are readying their brands for more nationwide roll-outs.
The Group, which operates as the owner of The Cocktail Club, the Adventure Bar Group and the Barrio Familia group of bars, said it will open a new bar site covering an area of around 8,000 square feet - in Bristol for the Adventure Bar Group under the Blame Gloria brand.
This latest Blame Gloria site, which will be the first site under the brand to be opened outside London later this year, will have a 2:00 am licence and an unrestricted capacity of 350 people.
The Blame Gloria brands operates in London with two sites in Covent Garden and Clapham.
Nightcap acquired the Adventure Bar Group to its business back in May 2021. Today’s news marks the second new site opening for Adventure Bar Group in the last week following the announcement of the opening of a Tonight Josephine in Hanover Street in Liverpool.
This news marked the first opening in Liverpool for the Group and the second new site for the Tonight Josephine brand in recent weeks, following the successful opening in Cardiff earlier this month. As the brand’s sixth site, Adventure Bar Group now holds a total of 11 sites.
Nightcap highlighted to investors that it now has three sites across two of its brands in Bristol, thereby taking the total number of sites within its estate to 33, with an additional 23 premises under offer or in legal negotiations across the United Kingdom for all of Nightcap’s brands.
Commenting on the news, Sarah Willingham, Chief Executive Officer of Nightcap, told investors: “After another successful site opening of The Cocktail Club in Corn Street back in November of last year, we are excited to start trading a new Blame Gloria in an equally amazing site with underground arches which works so well for the flower themed branding.”
“This is our first Blame Gloria outside of London as we seek to share a brand Londoners have enjoyed in Covent Garden for years with its well-known brunches and late night partying.
Willingham, who said the business has performed “very well” since Nightcap acquired it in 2021, said she is “starting to see the significant efforts invested in readying their brands for nationwide roll-out, as we announce the second, of several new sites, in just the last week.”
Nightcap now has 33 sites within its estate and a further 24 premises under offer or in legal negotiations for all of its brands. Earlier this month, the company told investors that it has continued to see “favourable market conditions” for further site acquisitions across the UK.
