Strategic infrastructure specialist  Harland & Wolff(HARL) has continued its hot streak of new business, landing a new export contract to manufacture four ground anchor frames and four A-space frames for a Greenland-based mining company.

The components will form part of a mooring system allowing barges to dock at the Greenland mine, with work due to commence at HARL’s Amish yard in September for final delivery in April 2023. The contract is the Arnish yard’s first export project within the mining sector, and follows a string of wins for the company, including two significant barge contracts with waste-to-energy specialist Cory and its first order from the Ministry of Defence in July.

The deal provides further evidence that its multi-market strategy is working, and underpins the company’s ambitions to deliver £100-115m of revenues in FY 2023 and £200-230m the year after, at which point it plans to initiate returns to shareholders.

In a recent trading update, HARL’s management said it had identified a further £1.2b of opportunities across the company's five key markets: cruise & ferry, commercial fabrication, energy, defence, and renewables.

John Wood, Group Chief Executive Officer commented: "We are delighted that we have been trusted to deliver critical components for this mining infrastructure project. Selected for its location and extensive on-site capability…we now look forward to delivering these key mining components over the next ten months and to a long prosperous partnership."Follow | HARL
