Transport company Mobico Group PLC   Follow | MCG has announced that its chair of two years Helen Weir has decided to step down for personal reasons.
Mobico, formerly known as National Express group, said on Tuesday that the non-executive chair, who has been in the position since January 2023, has decided that she will not stand for re-election at the AGM in June.

A search for her successor will be led by the Mobico's nominations committee and an external search firm.

Weir, who was awarded a CBE for services to finance in 2008, is the former CFO of Marks & Spencer and group finance director at John Lewis and Lloyds Banking Group, and has held several non-executive director roles at other brands like Just Eat, SABMiller and Royal Mail.

"We would like to thank Helen for her contribution during her time on Mobico's board and we wish her well in the future," said Mobico director Karen Geary.

"A search for a new chair will now commence and we look forward to making an appointment in due course."

Shares were 1.3% lower at 70.9p by 0838 GMT.
