GenIP (GNIPFollow | GNIP, a provider of generative AI services to companies, research institutions, and venture funds, announced its entry into the UK academic  market after signing initial agreements with undisclosed top-tier UK research institutions.

In a statement, GenIP referenced two UK academic partners - a "prominent university known for its applied research and industry collaboration" and a second "public research university recognised for its innovation pipeline across engineering, health sciences, and digital technologies."

This news follows GenIP's expansion into the Chilean academic market, marked by a significant engagement for 30 analytical assessment orders with a top research institution in the country. Collectively, the news demonstrate GenIP's growing reputation as a reliable AI technology partner to leading academic and research institutions worldwide.

Melissa Cruz, CEO of GenIP, commenting: "Securing our first UK academic clients is a significant milestone for GenIP and a clear signal of growing demand for our AI-powered technology analytics platform. Startup GenIP marks a milestone by signing its first UK academic customers. The company continues to add clients and diversify its orderbook, reflecting rapidly building demand for its AI-powered technology analytics platform. In recent months, GenIP has added significant orders from leading global research institutions looking to commercialise their R&D.

In addition to the UK academic market, GenIP recently entered into the Chilean and Brazilian markets through contracts with a leading research institution and a government agency respectively. On the corporate front, GenIP announced in May 2025 the launch of its its new AI-powered 'Competitive Intelligence Report' with its maiden customer a Big Four accountancy firm.

In total, GenIP continues to build sales momentum, reporting growing interest in its AI offerings from corporate and research organisations, particularly the generative AI portfolio that was launched in September 2024. In its first annual results for FY24, the company reported quick commercial progress since incorporating in February 2024 and listing on AIM in October 2024.

The young AI specialist reported revenues of £123k, generating a gross profit of £15k at 12.3% gross margin, with a comfortable cash position of £972k after raising £1.75m in the IPO. Operating loss for the year was £888k reflecting early-stage investment and an aggressive scaling strategy. With a rapidly growing orderbook and a solid balance sheet heading into 2H25, we expect recurring revenues to scale quickly.

As of March 31, 2025, GenIP had received over 500 orders for its 'Invention Evaluator' AI service alone, projected to generate revenues of over US$400k, complementing the company's existing pipeline. Customers prepay for these orders, providing predictable, steady cashflow and strong revenue visibility. Notably, the abovementioned operating loss includes $359k of share-based payments related to the IPO that will not recur.

GenIP's customer base has a good geographical spread, with significant growth momentum in Latin America and Asia, helping to offset any US-related trade uncertainty.
