Avon Technologies signs £10m contact renewal with Thales
Military respiratory protection and helmet maker
Avon, which has held the contract for 10 years already through its Avon Protection division, has signed a new deal to extend its services over the next six years.
"This award is strategically important for Avon Protection. It demonstrates our contribution to the overall health and resilience of the UK defence industrial base," said Steve Elwell, the head of Avon Protection.
Avon Protection provides products for numerous areas of mission-critical protection, including respirators, powered and supplied air, chemical and biological protective gear, and underwater systems.
"We are proud of the contribution that we make to the national security of the UK, and we remain committed to providing a strategic capability to design, develop, manufacture, and supply critical solutions to the Armed Forces," said Avon Technologies' chief executive Jos Sclater.
Despite the contract win, shares were down 1.9% at 1,487.49p.
